CEVA Champel-Hospital train station
Plateau de Champel - Geneva, Switzerland
The project consistsof the creation of a public square sheltered by a forest with a direct link to the new CEVA (Cornavin-Eauxvives-Annemasse) train station located where the old Plateau de ChampelPark used to be.
The urban proposal aims to reduce the presence of the CEVA buildings, and to create a large swath of trees which would dominate the site. The squarebecomes identifiable through generous urban gestures and the strong presence of trees.
The different heights of the retaining walls of the square respond to the topography of the site and not to the location of the CEVA buildings. The new buildings therefore, seem to float in the middle of thee trees.
